Trailer finished - Possessed

This is our teaser trailer for Possessed. I worked on camerawork and overall directing, Annabel worked on writing and scripting, as well as our main actor, and Kate working on lighting and make up.

The overall idea was that a teenage girl can see dead people and that one possesses her, and makes her all evil and such, and then peculiar things start to happen.

Our original inspiration trailer was the woman in black trailer as seen in the last post.

Through the creation of the trailer, i learned about the necessity of a perfect balance and mixture of camera angles, lighting effects, and non diegetic sound. i also learned about how to a pause of action - ie a pause for titles - at the correct moment, can be beneficial in creating tension and mystery.

Practical Skills Development

The task we were set was to make our own teaser trailer either something similar to the Inception one, or the Hunger Games, or even the Woman in Black. My group decided to to make out teaser trailer similar to the Woman In Black one, as we found this one very interesting and thought that we could make our own version similar to that one, with the equipment and resources we had around us. The rough outline of our teaser trailer is that theirs a teenage girl who sees dead people, which take over her body and posses her, which leads to some strange activity.

This is a link to the trailer that i made on the film Education website. http://www.filmeducation.org/teachingtrailers/secondary/make_a_trailer/view/E2775 Most will notice that there is no sound, that is because i would of used dialogue and a range of natural diegetic sounds to accompany the clip.

Starting My Research And Developing Practical Skills

I will research the campaign for the recently released Battleship. Then using the film education website, i will have a go at designing my own trailer for the film employing my recently acquired knowledge of film marketing.

Brief

A promotion package for a new film, to include a teaser trailer, together with:
-A film magazine front cover, featuring the film
-A poster for the film

The production element and presentation  of research, planning and evaluation may be individual or group work (maximum size is four for candidate). Where candidates have worked in a group, the evidence for assessment may be presented collectively but centres will still assess candidates on a individual basis for their contribution to aspects of the work, from planning, research and production to evaluation.
